Birds
Making blanket forts is a great way to teach knot skills to otters! They also love to play in them after they are assembled. Here the blanket fort activity is paired with a craft project, but you could substitute another activity if it works better for your group.
- Opening Ceremony
- Talk about knots
- Teach the reef knot and the sheet bend
- Steam off game
- Blanket forts
- Help the kids tie the knots they learned to make the forts
- Hang out in the forts for snack & story time
- Otter Mask Craft Project
- Imagination play with the Otter masks in their fort (holt!)
- Closing Ceremony
